Hardwood Floor Repairs

Reliable Hardwood Floor Repairs for Seamless, Durable Fixes.

Hardwood floor repairs save floors that homeowners often think are beyond saving. Whether it is pet urine damage, water stains from a leak, a gouged board, squeaky floors, or gaps that formed over decades, our repair work is designed to be invisible once done.

Board replacement is the most common repair we do. We source matching wood species and grain pattern, then feather the new boards into the surrounding floor. On older floors with a patina, we apply a custom stain blend and finish to help the repair blend in. No repair on aged wood will be 100% invisible under direct light — we are honest about this — but our results consistently exceed client expectations.

For squeaky floors, we drive screws down through the subfloor or use the squeak-ender bracket system from below to pull the subfloor tight. For gaps between boards, we use a flexible wood filler matched to the floor color or, on wide gaps, install thin slips of matching wood.

How it works

How a hardwood floor repairs job runs

  1. 01

    Diagnosis

We identify the root cause: moisture damage, subfloor movement, board cupping, insect damage, or simple wear. Treating symptoms without fixing root cause leads to repeat failures.

  2. 02

    Source matching wood

For board replacements, we source the closest matching species, grade, and width. On older floors, we sometimes use reclaimed boards for better age matching.

  3. 03

    Board removal and replacement

Damaged boards are carefully removed with a circular saw and chisel to avoid damaging adjacent boards. New boards are fitted, glued, and nailed.

  4. 04

    Blend and finish

We sand the repair area, apply a custom stain to match, and apply spot or full-coat finish to tie the repair into the floor.

Hardwood Floor Repairs questions

Can pet urine damage be repaired?

Mild pet staining on the surface can often be sanded out. Urine that has penetrated deep into the wood grain or the subfloor typically requires board replacement. We assess each case honestly — sometimes replacement is the only way to eliminate the odor and discoloration permanently.

How do you fix squeaky hardwood floors?

Squeaks are usually caused by the subfloor or boards rubbing against each other. We access from below if possible (ideal for finished basements) or use specialized screws driven down through the face of the floor. The access method depends on your home's construction.

Will a repaired board match the rest of the floor exactly?

We get very close, but an exact match on aged floors is difficult. Wood naturally darkens and changes color over years of foot traffic and light exposure. We show you test swatches before committing to the stain color.
